thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We have many things to be thankful for! For our health, opportunities, life and our families. There are so many people that are their for us and we don't realize how important to us. We are all blessed with opportunities to show what talents and all the aspects of ourselves that God gave to us. For instance, all of the GST team is blessed with talents, whether it is fighting talent, a "drive and want" to be better, athletic talent, mental talent or even being there for the rest of their teammates. We should also be thankful for the parents we have that sacrifice so much for us. I am thankful for the parents that aren't even mine. The Gutings are like my second family. They sacrifice their time and take me to tournaments and practices. They help me become a better fighter and better person because I learn so much from being around my team and you guys also help me become a better person. Each of us have parents who take care of us and are there for us when things don't go right and when we have our best times. Some other people I'm greatful for are Master Garr, Master Ortez and Tae Hee. They provide us with the right training, confidence and opportunities. Without any of them, I don't know where I would be today. I can't even express how greatful I am for them. Thank you to all who have been their for me and who have given me a reason to be a good person.
To my teammates: I said what i have been greatful for, please reflect back and think about who and what you are greatful for and why.
Enjoy your day off and happy holiday to all!

saturday's practice

Hey team!
We did very well on Saturday, there are some minor issues that we can all change to make the class more efficient and better. One, there was too much talking from the juniors. Two, we have a new teammate and everyone needs to help out because some drills are confusing and our veterans should know how to get em' done so they need to start helping all the others. Lastly, some of you juniors need to learn how to hold for your teammates and stop getting frustrated when you do something wrong. When you do something wrong, just fix it and move forward. There should be no reason for you guys to be crying or upset over things you messed up on, just be confident in whatever you do. Also, I would like to say welcome to our new teammate Nathan. He is pretty quick on learning stuff so thats where all my other juniors need to help him out and make sure he knows what we are doing in drills because most of it is unfamiliar to him. I am proud to say, all of you guys are becoming a stronger team together and working together which is what we need to do because out team is very small. I encourage you guys to keep eachother confident also, so when someone messes up, help them out if you know what they are doing wrong or tell me, or any of the seniors like Mr.Howe or Ms.Lopez(jade). We are always there to help you guys. One last thing, if someone does really good on a drill, or even messes up, tell them goodjob. Keep up all the good work guys!

its been a while!

Hey,
Its been a while since i have made a post, so I will make this one extra long ;). Sorry I haven't been at practice this week, but I have been taking care of some things at home and loads of homework. I want my teammates to know, we all need to work hard and keep our grades up! school should come first before games, and even..... taekwondo. Also, we all need to be pushing eachother in class. Eventhough I love my job as team captain, this is a TEAM and there is no I in team. We need to be holding stronger, and looking out for eachother and making sure we all get enough training and fight time at the dojang I'm sad to say, I can't make it to the stanford scrimmage on November 14, I have a party to attend with my family. I am expecting all of you guys to be on good behavior, stick together, be a team, and represent Garr Sport Taekwondo. See you guys at practice on saturday!

seniors

Today we had a class of only seniors. Its funny because on Thursday, it was only a class of juniors. We had a high speed class today. We did a lot of drills, and plenty of kicking. For those of you who couldn't make it, I wish you were all there. We only had 7 people today, Jade, Nate, Elias, Angelica, Dwayne, Park, and myself.

Sorry i missed out!

Hey Team,

Sorry i missed out on class on Thursday, but i was stuck in traffic until 9:00, and still had a long ways to go. Master Garr did update me on the class. I am very proud of all my juniors who attended class on Thursday because you handled business without having some seniors to tell you what to do. I hope you all continue to show your leadership!

Visitors!!!

On Saturday, had some great fighters visit us, and will hopefully continue to cross-train with us. We had Walt, Kim, Sven, and Justin. I couldn't make it to practice on Thursday, but I heard it was great and Master Singer was there. It was great to have some new training partners and getting in the ring with them. If you would like to see some pics, please check out the team website. Even though our entire team couldn't make it today, we had a large class. After training, the Gutings, Nisha, myself, and our new friends from WTC went to the mall to hang out. I having was great having them at our training and changing up our sparring partners. All of these visitors were seniors, but maybe they will bring some juniors for all of our younger teammates to fight.

Progression

Hi Everyone, I made this blogspot, thanks to Mr.Esaka, to just let you know my feel or takes on things i notice during class, outside of class or just life in general. I hope that some of you will read this. First I would like to start out by recognizing everyone that made progression in class. Mr. Park, made some dramatic changes, and i hope he continues to progress. Elias Guting, Angelica Guting, and Dwayne Burns, are continuing to show their natural talent and hard work in the ring, they changed so much, in a short amount of time. I have known Rei, Audrey, Bridgitte, and Cameron for 3 to almost 4 years, I saw them from their little, shy stages, to their, maturing selves. One person i would really like to recognize is Bridgitte Agcaoili, even though i am team captain, i don't always have time to keep an eye, or help everyone at the same time, without me asking, Bridgitte helps me keep the younger athletes in our class focused and takes charge when she needs too.
